Marketing & Distribution Agreement - Rejected by USC Cinema
How It Could Be
I recently contacted the USC Festivals and Distribution Office
seeking to learn if they would be willing to collaborate on marketing Broncho Billy.
We'll see if it leads to cooperation. If it does, this could become a model for film students
retaining the copyright to their short films, but still working with USC on distribution.
March 22, 2007Greetings:
Thank you Sandrine for sending me
an update about the festival efforts from your office on Broncho Billy. In 2007, USC Festivals and Distribution Office
may be seeking additional markets for short films,
and may have expertise with respect
to the Internet and shorts on television in the U.S. and other markets.I am willing to work with your office
on my marketing and distribution efforts for Broncho Billy.Let me know if you are interested
and see a way that we could collaborate. Please keep me updated.
Best regards,
JOHN LONGENECKER
Here is the response:March 26, 2007Hello:
Thank you for your e-mail and for the trust you put in our services. Unfortunately we are not able to take any additional titles on distribution. Our Department is for USC copyrighted titles only.
That being said, we will, as we always do, talk about your film and recommend it to the distributors that are interested in our great films. I hope you will then be able to pursue some of these deals if they are of interest to you.
Best,
Sandrine F. Cassidy
